Alex Turner has stated to NME, that while he was writing songs for "Suck It And See" he was also getting into Country Music. When NME asked about where the band got inspiration to the sound of "Suck It And See", Alex Turner stated: "I started getting into country music which is something I've never gone
anywhere near until quite recently, like I never understood it before.".
In reality when we compare country music to the sound of "Suck It And See", we don't see the connection, but that was also explained by the Monkeys frontman: "They're really sort of smart arses sometimes those guys, like George
Jones and that kind of thing. The sound doesn't speak to me but the
lyrics do." At least now we now where the more "romantic" lyrics came from.
About the Arctic Monkeys future he also said some words: "'Black Treacle', the single we're releasing next year, we're recording a
B-side for that. It's a little bit more rock'n'roll. A lot of the album
was more mellow.". Lets just expect those new recordings and the release of their new single next year.
